Imported Trello Card:
Deck Size, and number of cards
in list Game design principles
Description
Edit
What Size should decks be?
Should that number be fixed (e.g. 40) ?
Or a range (e.g min 40, max: 80
Also, how many copies of cards should of each card should we allow? (e.g Hearthstone is 2, 1 of Legendaries, Dueyst = 3

I'd like the deck size not to be hard limited. While pros will go for minimum possible I don't see why everyone should be limited.

Both in Gauntlet and Ladder the numbers are pretty much perfect. Same goes with copies, though maybe I would consider some cards that are incredibly powerful to have the 1x limit.

We are pretty good as is, if anything smaller. Absolutely not bigger. And I really loath the frontloading power into a card and than limiting its amounts, it makes top decks way to swingy. We want more consistency, not less.
Good deck variety, just enough output RNG, plus an emphasis on position should provide all the variance we need.

Having no duplicate limit would be fatal for game balance, imo.
I could imagine this being a custom setting, or special game mode, but not in a standard match.
I plead for two different duplicate caps, one for normal cards and one for legendaries. Where these should be set needs to be figured out when our first own cards get designed.

Even though Its more work, I'd personally like to see variable deck size.
I'd also be interested in tinkering with the idea of setting a high limit on the number of duplicates. Although harder to balance, it might be interesting to see a game where your deck can be just 40 void pulses.
